/Mixing up some colors for Dee J's 624T. Going for a shade close to Daphne blue in honor of his new daughter, Daphne.

Fun with scarf joints: added some ebony between the maple. Should create a nice little black band after the neck has been shaped.

Decided to have some fun on the back of this Spanish Cedar reverse Raven body and put the jack on the back!

624T for Dee J Nelson
/Yep. Here it is - a lefty Sully 624T for Dee J Nelson. Body is Alder, neck is Maple, fretboard is Rosewood. Stainless steel frets. Color will be Daphne blue in honor of his young daughter, Daphne. Two humbuckers and a hardtail bridge. Good times!

Updates....Sully '71 sightings!
/Yep....it's the Sully '71 (two of them, actually)! Bodies and necks are Korina. there is another that is Alder. They'll all have maple tops, and am deciding bridge options and configurations. One will most likely have a floyd, and one may be semi hollow.
Making a body blank
/Among other things, a new guitar is in the works for Dee Jay Nelson. I call this one a 624T. That said, here's how you build a body in three easy steps:
1. Trace your body shape on the blank (to make sure you'll have enough foom for it) and then join the gluing faces so they're nice and flat.
2. Lay on some Titebond wood glue to the gluing faces and clamp, clamp, clamp! Make sure you've got some wax paper underneath to prevent yourself from gluing the blank to your workbench, and make sure that you're applying downward pressure on the body as you're clamping it up. Glue can act as a lubricant and it's not uncommon for the halves to want to move around while you're trying to tighten the clamps. Sometimes it's like trying to wrangle cats.
3. Hydrate.
And that's it!
